Il concetto dietro la tecnologia Skyhook è quello di immaginare un gancio, che dal cielo,  sostiene il peso della motocicletta mentre sobbalza per via delle asperità dell’asfalto. Quindi Skyhook, modula la forza di smorzamento permettendo alle ruote di assorbire al meglio gli avvallamenti e gli urti incontrati mantenendo l’assetto della moto  in equilibrio senza il minimo disturbo.   Il software Skyhook di Showa,  finemente messo a punto dagli ingegneri Kawasaki, assicura a Z H2 SE un carattere sportivo, permettendo però una guida più fluida e con un assetto che si adatta alla strada percorsa in tempo reale.
